Essential Duties The receiving clerk (scanning and pricing clerk) plays an important role in the ongoing functions of the store. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include: Ensures pricing accuracy throughout the store and in automated point of sale systems, including weekly sale items are updated Ensures
new or substituted products are entered properly into the database and proper shelf tags are created for all products throughout the store Verifies inventory counts received versus physical counts of products and adjusts counts or researches reasons for discrepancy Uses the proper display signs, shelf tags, and sale signs at all times Resolves pricing issues throughout the store Maintains a thorough knowledge of the location of all products throughout the store Ensures backroom is maintained in an orderly and efficient manner Works with direct store delivery (DSD) vendors, by verifying product quantities and prices, and paying invoices received by DSD vendors Verifies invoices received from warehouse
Processes and maintains damaged products according to procedures in order to receive any applicable credits from C&S or vendors Other Duties Processes bread delivery according to store drop delivery procedures Assists in Grocery/Dairy/Frozen Departments when needed Receiving and verifying ordered products Skills and Abilities Based on the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, the scanning and receiving clerk should have a number of skills and abilities: Full time availability Must have previous receiving / pricing experienc e Sound organizational and time management skills Remarkable attention to detail Good interpersonal and customer service skills Well-developed verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both as an individual contributor and a team member The ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and meet assigned deadlines Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment Education, Experience, and Other Requirements Based on the responsibilities of the position, the scanning and receiving clerk is required to have: Knowledge of available grocery products Knowledge of point of sale and inventory systems Experience with computers including programs such as Excel and Word
