This position will split duties between administrative and enforcement functions and planning activities outside of special projects or tasks. The Environmental Planner position is responsible for performing planning work, including environmental review, current planning, long-range planning, engineering assistance, and code enforcement.
In coordination with the General Manager and the Management Team, the Community Planner assists in collaborating with the Strategic Planning Team, Long-Range Planning Committee, and Architectural Control Committees. They are responsible for aiding the
General Manager in guiding the Board through the strategic planning process and implementing and updating the Community Plan with the LRPC. Works with developers, property owners, contractors, Whatcom County, and the general public regarding land use and planning issues.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in public administration, environmental/natural resources planning, urban planning, or a closely related field is required. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred. Five years of work experience as a professional planner or education, training, and expertise providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
