Duties and Responsibilities Determines product specifications and materials, work methods, and machine setup requirements, according to blueprints, drawings, or work orders Sets up and operates powered or manual woodworking machines, such as drill presses, table saws, panel saws, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, or wood-nailing machinesExamines raw wood stock for defects and to ensure
conformity to size and other specification standards Examines finished work pieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions, visually and using hands, rules, calipers, templates, or gaugesChanges alignment and adjustment of sanding, cutting, or boring machine guides to prevent defects in finished products, using hand tools Feeds stock through feed mechanisms or conveyors into planing, shaping, boring, sanding machines, or table machines to produce desired components Cleans or maintains products, machines, or work areas Lubes, greases or oils woodworking machines Operates gluing guns, machines, hammers, or screw guns; and nails or screws
