Qualified individuals will have an outgoing personality, reliable transportation, some knowledge of boats and boating equipment. Please provide a resume and any other applicable information about yourself. The Dockhand is an essential position within Carefree Boat Club. The dockhand is the first contact our members associate with each day. Although the dockhand has specific daily job duties

that are stated in the job description, it is essential that the dockhand assist the club members and their guests with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism.

The member's boating and overall club experience begins at the dock with the dockhand. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): -Understand the core values of Carefree Boat Club -Review reservation schedules -Clear reservations, when needed -Provide concierge service for members -Assist members with Float Plans (Check members out and in from boat outings) -Review weather and brief members -Understand vessels capabilities, systems, amenities and equipment -Conduct vessel servicing inspection

prior to each launch (oil/fuel/steer/trim/coolant) -Inspect bilge prior to launch (water level/fluids/physical damage/noise/leaks) -Fuel boats Wash/detail and wax boats Maintain boat batteries (test/replace) -Respect marina and staff to ensure good working relationships -Solid knowledge of surrounding water ways -Operate all vessels confidently around marina and fuel pumps (we will train) -Assist with servicing and maintenance of boats (we will train) -Assist with inspection/replacement of props (we will train) Required Qualifications and Qualities: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Such qualities and qualifications include: -Proven skills or the willingness to be trained in administration, seamanship, communication, safety, and marina operations. -A positive attitude combined with the ability to communicate fluently and relate well to members in the leisure environment and the ability to manage and motivate self and other dock hands -Commercial awareness and an eye for detail in all aspects of work -High standards of presentation and accuracy in written work -Proficient swimmer -Valid driving and boating license (or be willing to obtain NASBLA boating certification) Education/Experience: -High school or equivalent -Secondary school education preferred A flexible approach towards working hours is required.

The dockhand position requires shift working across a 6- day a week rotating roster, including All Summer Holidays, and night time hours. The dockhand shall take into account operational requirements (e. g. peak season demands, boat shows) when planning his/her leave. The dockhand should expect to work on weekends, during peak times and special events and is always on call in times of emergency or bad weather.
