by combining fabricated components and commercial off-the-shelf (COTs) items Integrate circuit card assemblies into various types of chassis Assembles harnesses and electrical devices (switches, relays and circuit boards) per drawings and wiring diagrams, military specifications and/or technical manuals.
Tools used: screwdrivers, wrenches, soldering irons, wire strippers, heat guns, crimpers, power crimpers, pull testers, retention tools, solder sleeves, cable testers and cable scans. Cuts, Strips wire, attaches pins and assembles harnesses and recovers heat shrink and maker sleeves as required. Reads and interprets documents such as engineered drawings, schematics, work order travelers,
safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, work process specifications and procedure manuals. Carries out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Performs other duties, as required.
Qualifications Required: High school diploma or GED required. 3 years of experience building mechanical/electrical assemblies Current or previously held J-STD solder certification Current or previously held IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification Current or previously held IPC-A-610 certification Must be able to prove proficiency in basic electronics and theories, via certification testing or general question and answer method.
