Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires. Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician,

patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Infection control & Cancer Registry Responsibilities Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organization's infection prevention and control strategies,

policies, and planning. Collects and performs statistical analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of OSHA Standards/healthcare acquired infection data, including risk backssment, surveillance priorities, and outcomes analysis.

Assists with the development of educational resources and initiatives. Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices. Participates in quality improvement activities of the organization and the department. Facilitates the surgery center's process to provide a safe environment by reducing the risk of exposure to blood/body fluids to employees, patients, and customers of the facility.

Collects, compiles, and reports cancer diagnosis data for state reporting purposes on a monthly basis. Prepares policies and procedures for surgery center. Minimum Education Associate's degree in Nursing: □ Preferred X Required Bachelor's degree in Nursing: X Preferred □ Required Required Licenses [Tennessee, United States] Registered Nurse RN License in the State of TN or another compact state Required Skills/Certifications: The below certifications will be required at the time of hire: X Basic Life Support (BLS) The below certifications will be required within 6 months of hire or when transferring into a new department with these certifications: X Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) X Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
