The Medical Intensive Care Unit is a 18-bed, recently renovated, unit that encounters patients in the adult/geriatric population that are acutely ill as a result of a variety of medical illnesses, often with multiple comorbidities. These include, but are not limited to, septic shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome, CVA, post cardiac arrest, GI bleeding, overdoses, and more. backssment - Collects data and completes nursing backssment utilizing appropriate area and/or age specific standards/policies and tools. Identifies nursing priorities for the interdisciplinary plan of care based on nursing backssment (and other data as appropriate).
Validates these priorities with healthcare team members and documents appropriately. - Planning & Outcomes - Develops an age appropriate, culturally sensitive, individualized plan of care that reflects current evidence based practice, the backssed needs of the patient/family and addresses continuity of care. skin, nutrition, social services).
