Personal Injury Attorney Job Duties: Give telephone advice to injured legal plan members to protect their legal rights and to qualify potential cases.
Meet with clients both in and out of the office for intakes. Gather evidence to prosecute claims including investigating accident scenes, obtaining photographs and interviewing witnesses. Must keep frequent client contact to update the client on case status and to make sure information in the client's file is complete and up to date. Prepare cases for pre-litigation
settlement. Legal analysis of facts and the law to develop winning strategies for maximizing case value and obtaining successful case outcomes. Negotiate with adjusters and defense attorneys.
Draft pleadings, motions and discovery documents. Argue motions and appear for court conferences. Take and defend depositions of parties and non-party witnesses. Handle mediations and arbitrations including preparation of ADR packages. Conduct jury selections and trials. Must utilize the firm's case management system in reviewing files, entering file notes and in assigning tasks to support staff. Skills and Qualifications: Minimum 7 years' experience as a practicing personal injury attorney. Must
have trial experience. Juris Doctor Degree plus NYS bar admission. Federal Bar admission and experience is a plus.
Client focused strong customer service and personal service orientation. Strong organizational and time management skills and detail oriented. Must be energetic, motivated and dependable. Strong ability to build and foster client relationships. Excellent telephone skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical and negotiation skills. Must be able to travel within the New York Metropolitan Area and occasionally in the upstate counties. Able to build client relationships and practice client confidentiality. Computer literate.
