Key Accountabilities/Deliverables: • Marketing, producing accounts, understanding Marine and Energy exposures, knowing how to price account and the policy forms to use.
The underwriter must make sure to write business within the reinsurance guidelines. The goal is to write a growing profitable book of business. • Assist with a brokerage operations. • Expected to travel more to market. • Must have a strong working relationship with Worldwide Marine market, with a strong relationship with brokers in the East Coast, Midwest,
and Gulf Coast regions. • Must understand the Lines of business, forms and pricing the exposures written. • Must be able to work as a team member, including the USA Marine Team in NY.
Excellent communication skills are needed. • Must be disciplined and conservative to maintain an underwriting standard of writing quality business at a profitable level. • Must be able to understand, control, and monitor the aggregation of exposures. Since we work in a global environment, we must control the aggregations with our underwriters throughout the world. Key Outputs: Must see a flow of business in from brokers. Must analyze risks. Must set proper terms and conditions including pricing to make
an underwriting profit. Must never exceed the aggregation limits set by management.
Must work within the parameters of our reinsurance treaty. Experience: Must be a college senior or graduate student for the 2023-2024 academic year or an early career professional. Will have successfully completed either a bachelor's or master's degree by May, 2024. Must have a solid understanding of the Marine industry. Strong understanding of the different lines of business in the Marine space. Must have the ability to build strong working relationships with Worldwide Marine market, and strong relationships with brokers in the East Coast. Strong understanding of the different policy forms for each line of business.
