Consistently maintain operational knowledge of all equipment utilized in the Interventional Pain Medicine (IPM) department. It is the nurse's responsibility to gain the knowledge in all areas of IPM. Consistently demonstrate competence in recognizing potential complications and initiation of appropriate corrective measures. Consistently ensure necessary consents are obtained for procedures initiated in the unit. Consistently maintain working knowledge of procedure cart, crash cart. Consistently prepare equipment/supplies and demonstrate competence in assisting with specialized IPM procedures.
Consistently evaluate equipment function and promptly identify/report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate department. Consistently demonstrate competence in basic emergency care nursing skills, and IPM skills. Performs skills of IPM nursing that are consistent with professional nursing standards.
