Responsibilities The Psychiatric Registered Nurse in Home Health renders professional nursing care to patients in their home by backssing, developing, implementing, and evaluating home nursing care needs of assigned patients. The psychiatric home health nurse works in close contact with the psychiatrist and/or medical physician to ensure
proper compliance with prescribed treatment. Education and Experience Experience Requirements Prior to RN making a psychiatric nurse visit, the agency will adhere to Psychiatric Skilled Nursing/Scope of Care Must have experience within the last five years.
If not, documentation must support psychiatric retraining classes or CEUs to update psychiatric knowledge. License Requirements Must have current RN licensure. Current CPR certification required. Must have a current drivers license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation. Responsibilities The Home Health Registered Nurse (RN) in Home Health provides and directs provisions of nursing care to patients in their homes as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies. Also, the RN Registered Nurse job coordinates total plan of care with other health care

Performs patient comprehensive backssments at designated time points and develops the appropriate POC, in collaboration with physician orders. Ensures patients meet home health eligibility and medical necessity guidelines as defined by payer source. Initiates, develops, implements, and makes necessary revisions to the plan of care in collaboration with the physician and other health care professionals involved in care.
