AIG Energy and Construction has an opportunity for an Underwriter I as part of a US launch of a business specializing in underwriting quota share & excess of loss construction projects for

Energy. The focus will be on Erection All-Risk (EAR) specifically for the Energy occupancies - Oil & Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Power Generation, and Mining. The Underwriter I is expected to work effectively, guided by a Senior Underwriting Specialist to manage a profitable book of business successfully.

As an Underwriter, you must gain and utilize sufficient technical analysis and underwriting acumen combined with marketing and sales skills to meet underwriting goals (i. e. achieve growth targets and maintain overall profitability). Builders Risk team, you are respected for your technical expertise and ability to underwrite Energy projects.

You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership of key outcomes. With guidance from a Senior Underwriting Specialist, produce, underwrite, and service a profitable business book for the US Energy EAR business. Utilize underwriter authority in accordance with the published underwriting guidelines. Handle a portfolio of single-project businesses. Develop effective producer and client relationships throughout assigned territory.

Work alongside business development colleagues to effectively maximize our distribution partner network. Effectively negotiate and secure policy terms that align with the company directives, utilizing product and service offerings to bring value to the client. What we are looking for : 2+ years of underwriting experience in Builders Risk for Energy Construction 4 years of college/university Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience Some knowledge of Builders Risk property forms and Energy Construction manuscript wordings Some technical knowledge of Energy classes of business and industry trends and drivers Relationships with brokerage partners are a plus Ability to work in a fast-paced environment making quick decisions while adhering to a sound underwriting discipline Outcome focused, self-motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on collaboration and teamwork Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook is required#LI-AR1 A look at our Benefits We're proud to offer a range of employee benefits and resources that help you protect what matters most - your health care, savings, financial protection and wellbeing.
