The Controls Technician will be responsible for installing (commissioning), troubleshooting, repairing, and programming building automation control systems while providing top tier customer service for all internal and external customers. work as a team. What you'll do : Perform job start up, checkout, and troubleshooting for HVAC control systems. Perform wiring checkout and assist in automation system start-ups utilizing commissioning tools.
Coordinate electrical installation with electrical contractor at job site as required. Complete adjustments/calibrations and submit commissioning reports on automation systems. Participate in job site meetings and final walk through on assigned jobs and complete all job closeout documentation. Support project transition from installation to service team. Respond to customer service calls, diagnose trouble or defect, determine corrective action and repair systems. Emergency service
calls occasionally occur after regular schedule hours. Required skills, knowledge, and abilities : High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Mechanical, electrical, or related technical degree preferred.
Experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment; 1+ years preferred. Knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems, and ability to test and write modifications to systems software in multiple languages preferred. Demonstrated experience in the integration of low-voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols, such as BACnet, N2, Modbus, etc. p referred. Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook). Good verbal and written communication skills. Physical Demands: Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
May be required to satisfy requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or company needs including to be vaccinated for the flu and/or Covid-19, and subj ect to all applicable laws.
