A Day in the Life of an HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician The HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician position services, repairs and/or proposes replacement of warm air furnaces, air conditioners, duct distribution systems, boilers, water heaters, related piping and electrical. They must be able to service and startup equipment, and adjust to the manufacturers and job specification.
The HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician troubleshoots, adapts, and resolves/repairs all issues that arise that would keep the equipment from functioning properly and communicates to the consumer on the proper operation and owner's maintenance of the installed equipment.
In addition, they answer related questions as to operation, features, and functions to the homeowner. The HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician performs required documentation for each call, recording recommendations, repairs, accurate readings, and observations and has the client sign necessary paperwork and collect payments as directed.
