Position Summary This HVAC Tradesman will perform maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems under direction of HVAC Foreman or Mechanic.
Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units including hanging of units, assembling duct work and sealing of duct work while following safety guidelines. Performs housekeeping duties to keep work sites clean and safe. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Follow and enforce all Christman Facility Solutions safety protocols Work with HVAC Foreman and HVAC Mechanic to ensure delivery of equipment and material is received and installed according to plans and specifications Work under supervision of foreman and mechanic to learn to develop cutting tickets and installation of supply, return, exhaust ductwork and grilles and registers Use hand and power tools to cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate ductwork and fittings Work with other trades in the routing of ductwork and layout of equipment Assemble and install ductwork, fittings, fan coils, VAV boxes, fan-powered boxes, double duct boxes, exhaust fans and air handlers.
Inspect
systems installed for leaks and make necessary adjustments Maintain supply of trade specific materials such as screws, duct tape, duct sealer, taps, snap lock pipe, flex duct and tie-bands Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

Work Environment The work is completed outside at the construction site, renovating occupied facilities such as hospitals, labs, nursing homes, etc.
Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires they wear protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats and safety glasses). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and able to talk and hear other employee talking.
The employee m ust be able to lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. May work nights and weekends, construction may, at times, continue around the clock to meet deadlines. Travel Must have reliable transportation.
Travel to and from the construction site is required. Long distance travel will be required which may include overnight stays depending on the project. Required Education and Experience One (1+) or more years of relevant work experience -or- Proven established work history for the position. Preferred Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must actively pursue learning to read blueprints and determine proper placement of ductwork without causing structural damage Work requires manual dexterity to use hand and power tools Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively.
