As an System Administrator you will work with a variety of individuals that may include Application Architects, Infrastructure Operations teams, project leaders, external customers, business users, and senior management.
You will design, lead, and execute data center administration, manage Operating System upgrades, manage Operating System lifecycle, and other duties requiring in-depth knowledge of Server Hardware and Software technologies. Primary Responsibilities:
Administer, configure and provide maintenance for Windows and Non-Windows Server Platforms Provides support to the business continuity program and disaster recovery environment Provide support to the administration of the Cloud environment subscriptions for best practices compliance Monitors relevant systems for availability and performance and provide capacity management reporting support Acts as subject matter expert for Windows standards and SOP's Interfaces with Security Engineering and Operations for Security Standards for Linux and Windows Operating Systems Acts as subject matter expert on assigned projects Takes responsibility for completion of assigned project tasks Actively participates
in professional development of other less knowledgeable data backup and SAN resources Configure, troubleshoot and administer the Virtual server platforms Resource should understand how to utilize in-depth knowledge of virtualization using unified compute, storage and network resources Conducts routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards Plans, documents and communicates operating systems, physical host and ancillary resource configuration standards Demonstrates understanding of current SAN and data backup technologies and terminology Demonstrates understanding of how business requirements impact technical requirements Designs and develops standard operating procedures optimizing performance for both operational and regulatory concerns Designs, recommends and develops a comprehensive system of inventory and monitoring for supported server hardware and software Follows established IT processes for change, configuration and problem management as well as regulatory requirements Create templates and balancing resources for optimal performance, availability and risk avoidance Develops technical specifications/design documents that meet business and technical requirements and obtains appropriate approvals Employs the use of automation and templates for the creation of device configuration and design documentation ENGLISH PROFICIENT backs SMENT WILL BE REQUIRED AFTER APPLICATION You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or 5 years of experience in related field 5+ years of experience in IT environments administration and maintenance with high level understanding of Windows and virtualization technologies such as VMWare 5+ years of experience in request and incident management 2+ years of experience in administering and supporting Cloud server environments like Azure 1 + years of experience in administering and supporting Non-Windows operating systems 1 + years of experience in supporting Storage platforms Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and LAN/WAN environments Bilingual required (English / Spanish) Preferred Qualifications: IT Certifications (Azure, VMWare) Disaster Recovery program experience At United Health Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
