Position Description: Our Blast Analysts are involved in research, analysis, test, and modeling as well as quantifying lethality, survivability, or vulnerability and will perform the full rigor of an engineering analysis requiring clear problem identification, evaluation of alternatives, and analytical backssments as necessary to evaluate alternatives.

Findings will be reported in a clear, concise, and technically understandable format. Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline synergistic with space vehicle design (e. g. aerospace, electrical, mechanical, physics, propulsion,

engineering science, chemical, etc. ) is required. A degree from an ABET-accredited university is preferred.

Typical education requirements is MS with 3 years of experience or BS with 5 years of experience. Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to present testing and modeling results to NASA centers and personnel Quantifying lethality, survivability, or vulnerability Skilled with numerical computing environments such as Python, C++ or MATLAB and their application to modelling and simulation Capability to perform basic aerodynamic analysis and apply physics-based models for the prediction of thermal environments, blast and debris environments, pressure vessel ruptures, and propellant explosions Capability to sort, catalog, and analyze debris from launch vehicle failures for input into empirical models Experience designing, testing, and measuring explosive environments including blast waves and high-speed imagery for the development of empirical blast and fragmentation models is preferred Proficiency with the installation and use of sensing elements such as pressure transducers, stain gauges, thermocouples and high-speed cameras is desired Knowledge and experience in the production and processing of documentation required for test operations such as Safety backssments, Standard Operating Procedures, and Test Readiness Reviews.

Desired: Able to acquire certifications to handle hydrogen and high-pressure systems is preferred Familiar with the design and fabrication of experimental test apparatus and structures Familiar with the use and application of Computer Aided Design Software CREO Parametric and its application in a testing environment Proof of U.
