Location/Travel: This role can be based out of Radford, VA or Kingsport, TN. This role will involve 25% travel. Responsibilities: Ensure successful business execution on physical security and running security for a Government Owned Contractor Operated (GOCO) site.
Act as a member of the Senior Leadership Team within the Business Area and advise the VP/GM on security measures in accordance with the company’s SSA and business requirements. Interact with all functional leads within the Business Area and engage with senior government security leaders. Provide oversight and lead a team of exceptionally talented security managers while mentoring them to be future leaders. Oversee and ensure
compliance with the contracted guard force, fire department, and EMS personnel. Maintain compliance to all Government and Company Security Policies. Collaborate with the Director of Security for Combat Mission Systems and Ship Repair, the Director of International Security, the Personnel Security Manager, and the Joint Security Operations Center Manager.
Frequent travel and participation in Industry Associations and other functional professional organizations will be expected. Obtain or maintain Do D Secret Security Clearance. Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re-establish U. S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funding to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. Terra Power, a leading advanced generation technology company founded by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, will be deploying its 345 MWE sodium fast reactor (SFR), called Natrium.
The Natrium Demonstration plant features an advanced, cost-competitive reactor design that is safer, easier, and less costly to construct, less expensive to operate, and able to provide energy that is competitive with fossil fuels. It also features an innovative molten salt energy storage output, combined, the plant can
produce more than 500 MWE of power. The Natrium Demonstration plant will be licensed by the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Other Team Natrium partners include GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Energy Northwest, Pacifi Corp, and Duke Energy, along with the support from a number of national laboratories and universities.

criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline within a global business unit. Understands the basic discipline work processes. Performs engineering tasks, within a discipline, having a minor degree of complexity. Participates in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data from suppliers. The position is performed under the leadership of a Control Systems supervisor, lead, or other designee. The candidate will be required to be familiar with relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Engineering Department Procedure Instructions (EDPIs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
Responsibilities: The Control Systems Engineer's responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Specification of instrumentation and control valves. Generation of instrument and control valve data sheets and material requisitions. Design and application of tubing and instrument installations, etc. Coordination of physical locations of instrumentation, control valves, control cabinets, etc. Preparation of control narratives Design and review of digital and analog control logic.
Design and review of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) for various plant systems. Data entry to instrumentation, valve, and I/O databases Allocation and layout of facility control system I/O. Generation of design and design change packages. Origination of setpoint calculations. Design and review of cabinet layouts. Industrial control system (DCS or PLC) software programming. Review control systems graphic displays. Review of supplier provided data and documentation. Participate in supplier factory acceptance testing. Coordination with other engineering disciplines and other functions.
Some travel to plant and supplier facilities may be required. Qualifications and Skills: Basic Qualifications: BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field from an accredited university, with a minimum of three (3) years control systems experience, or MS degree in Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field, or in lieu of degree, nine (9) years engineering experience related to position. Candidate must have the right to legally work and remain in the United States without sponsorship. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft application suite (e. g. Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Power Point, etc. ) Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Codes and Standards pertinent to control systems engineering and nuclear industry. Familiar with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) Familiar with or course work using industry wide Control Systems calculation/design tools, such as instrument set-point calculation software, CAD 2D and loop designing software.
