We are looking for a Systems Engineer to provide Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) support for multiple digital engineering projects supporting a wide range of customers including NASA, Missile Defense Agency, US PEO Aviation, and related STEM/industry workforce development activities.
This position is in Huntsville, AL. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Apply standard system engineering (SE) techniques, procedures, and criteria across the Design, Development, Test and Evaluation (DDT&E) product life cycle. Support expansion of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) best practices, approaches, techniques,
and tools into product design as part of a team that is constantly applying digital engineering principles. Utilizes knowledge of model-based system engineering (MBSE) to perform analysis to support requirements definition, mission effectiveness, system evaluation, and military utility backssment for a broad spectrum of missions including combat air, intelligence-surveillance-reconnaissance, and air mobility.
Develop and manage object-oriented models using different digital engineering tools (e. g. Cameo Enterprise Architect/Magic Draw). Willingness to support STEM education and professional workforce development activities in support of non-profit Institute for Digital Enterprise Advancement
(IDEA). ( idea-set. org/ ) Evaluate, select, and apply standard system engineering (SE) techniques, procedures, and criteria as well as Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) best practices, approaches, and tools at different phases of a product life cycle.
Required Capabilities US Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance. Bachelor or Master's degree in an Engineering field, preferably Industrial/Systems engineering, from an ABET accredited program. 1-5 years experience in systems engineering and integration for electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems. Understanding of top-down systems engineering process for architecture development and bottoms-up verification, i.
e. Engineering Vee, or similar project lifecycle process. Understanding of the processes needed to be able to get data into and out of an object-oriented modeling environment in an accurate and timely manner. Experience or understanding in developing systems requirements, verification strategies, and verification planning as well as facilitating the successful completion of verification compliance activities. Capable of multitasking with minimal supervision, and as a team member to solve engineering problems within a fast paced and dynamic development environment.
