POSITION SUMMARY The Sr. Tech Support role provides support for the local and remote VTech US user communities. This position will be onsite in San Antonio to support the warehouse systems with potential advancement to system/network administration.
This position will be responsible for supporting warehouse workstations, printers, and network devices. It is important that the Sr. Tech Support effectively and efficiently take ownership of issues and provide solutions, ensuring users can continue to be productive within the company. Additional responsibilities
may include process improvement projects, in collaboration with the rest of the IT team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITES Answer technical support calls Provide expert technical support to all users in conjunction with the larger US IT Team Configure and troubleshoot client systems and supporting infrastructure Assist with administration of user facing systems and applications such as Active Directory, Office 365, Desktop Central and Trend Micro Perform troubleshooting for software and hardware issues Image new and older systems and deploy to end users Perform printer maintenance which includes toner changes, paper jam removal, etc.
Partner with teammates and other departments to drive
process improvement efforts Perform network troubleshooting and work with networking equipment Provide support to remote users using remote access tools Support Windows and Mac OS platforms as well as various corporate applications Provide support for i Phone's and Android devices Manage procurement for user equipment and accessories Collaborate through communication and teamwork with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous, and professional manner Exercise sound business judgment Work independently and collaboratively and manage time effectively in order to meet changing deadlines and priorities Treat all employees, guests and customers and others affiliated with our business with respect Conform and abide by all laws, regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions and VTech's Rules of Engagement Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment Other duties as needed or required POSITION SKILLS Must have a solid understanding of Microsoft Windows 7/10 as well as the entire suite of Microsoft Office Applications Must have an understanding of networking, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, wireless networks, wireless router configuration, VPN (Fortinet is preferred) Must have an understanding of Dell laptops and workstations Ability to diagnose hardware problems and perform maintenance on computer systems and printers Must be able to troubleshoot software problems and provide quick and effective solutions to resolve issues Must have Active Directory and Windows Server knowledge.
Candidate should be able to work in a Windows environment including file permissions and client-server application relationships Excellent communication skills and customer service skills Good team player with the ability to work well with others Experience with handheld computers, Meraki and Cisco switches Understanding of Network VLANS, WLANs, Active Directory and O365 Hands on experience with Server (HPe and Dell) and Mainframe (AS400) Knowledge of Manage Engine products a plus Knowledge of Vo IP a plus Must be able to lift 50 pounds AS400 experience a plus EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the area of Desktop/Client Support role Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform essential functions of this role.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Duties are primarily performed in an office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Core hours will be set between employee and manager and will be based on business needs. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. TRAVEL Travel is primarily local during the business day, although out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected 10% of the time.
