Press team. Monitor and fix performance and platform related bugs as they emerge. Play an active role in creating standard solutions, CI/CD strategy, and maintaining related infrastructure processes for the organization.

Basic Qualifications: A Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field of study and 5-7 years of Word

Press development is required. An overall combination of equivalent experience may also be considered.

Broad understanding of the Word Press Content Management system, including core functionality and structure. Skilled with PHP and understanding its role in the Word Press platform. Proficiency with HTML and CSS and its role in creating consistent and scalable style across the sites and the development of design systems. Experience working in an Agile organization and on a scrum team. Experience in web accessibility policy, concepts, and implementation. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is comfortable working as part of a team (in any capacity).

The candidate must demonstrate a strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communications skills. A desire to continuously improve technical skills and identify opportunities where development tools meeting ORNL Standards may be used in place of non-standard tools is expected. Preferred Qualifications: Motivated self-starter who can work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory. Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.

Experience developing custom themes and plugins. Skilled in using and configuring the Gutenberg editor experience. Working knowledge of: Git and file repo management. Task runners such as Grunt/Gulp and NPM. Relational database structure and concepts. Knowledge of software development life cycle strategy, including analysis, system design, prototype development, testing, and quality assurance. Practical knowledge of User Experience and User Interface (UX/UI) concepts and design. Fundamental understanding of Java Script and its role in user interface development.
