The Digital Foundry fuels ITS' cloud-first strategy by strategically reducing technical debt in partnership with other departments and teams leveraging cutting-edge techniques to accelerate releases using automation and application lifecycle management standards and tools. Dev Ops integrates and automates the work of software development leveraging standard practices
and toolsets with the goal of improving and shortening the systems development lifecycle. The Cloud Strategist will orchestrate the integration of the university's products and applications into a cloud-first environment.
They will spearhead the strategy and execution of transforming UCLA's traditional on-premise applications into cloud-based solutions, championing a shift towards more resilient, scalable, and innovative digital services. This individual will focus on the cloud-readiness of UCLA's applications and products, backssing each product's architecture, performance, and scalability in a cloud context. They will design migration strategies, prioritize application transformations,
and work closely with development teams to adapt applications for optimal performance in the cloud.
While the physical aspects of cloud migrations and cloud architecture will be handled by the university's IT infrastructure team, this individual will work closely with them to ensure smooth transitions and to optimize application performance post-migration. The Cloud Strategist will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by optimizing software and product development in service of the university's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students.
This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values. Special Instructions: This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement). The anticipated pay range for this position is $166,100 - $198,003; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
