of investigators conducting preclinical, clinical, and translational research at the UCLA Microbiome Center by providing expertise in advanced computational, biostatistics bioinformatics and system biological approaches to map relationships between clinical phenotypes and biological factors to provide new insights into host- microbiome interactions in health and disease.
The IBBC provides state-of-the-art, innovative computational methods, pipelines and workflows enabling researchers to unlock the full potential of their datasets. The Core provides unique services and expertise in integrating multiple streams of complex and interconnected biological data datasets. As a part of the team,
the candidate will develop skills in the application of biostatistical and bioinformatics tools to perform large-scale integrative analyses to backsses the complex interactions between various levels of biological data (e.
g. microbiome, metabolomics, foodomics, multimodal brain imaging data) with clinical phenotypes. Ongoing projects include brain-gut-microbiome interactions associated with Alzheimer's disease, cognitive impairment, autism spectrum disorder, obesity, exposome, social determinants or health , and chronic pain. There will be many opportunities to lead and contribute to high impact publications. Extensive mentorship will be provided to facilitate the transition to an independent
research career. Qualifications: Ph. D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology or a relevant field.
Knowledge of statistics and quantitative modeling Proficiency in R A demonstrated capacity to drive first author publications.
