Qualified candidate will be BC or BE and fellowship trained Position open to experienced physicians and physicians just out of fellowship Robotic Experience is desired Ability to work collaboratively as a member of multidisciplinary team Ability to treat the entire spectrum of thoracic surgery (Benign and Oncologic) The candidate selected will have the opportunity to develop a full-time clinical practice with blocked operating room time (Da Vinci Xi robotic and non-robotic room) as well as use of Pulmonary and GI lab for advanced bronchoscopic and endoscopic procedures.
The practice is currently comprised of three full-time thoracic surgeons and five advanced practice
providers. There is a large referral network for the candidate upon starting that has continued to expand. Day to day to duties will include dedicated OR time, clinic practice, and minimal administrative duties.
The thoracic surgery team is a division of Piedmont Heart, a nationally recognized destination for high-quality care. There is well-established multidisciplinary care, including interventional pulmonology, a lung cancer-screening program, and advanced radiation and medical oncology. Piedmont offers a collegial environment and many opportunities to collaborate with multiple surgical services (i. e. surgical oncology, neurosurgery, transplant surgery) in the care of complex and
diverse patients. This position is located on the campus of Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, a 481-bed quaternary community hospital offering all major medical, surgical, and diagnostic services, with the ability to establish an outpatient outreach clinic in the Atlanta-metro.
