The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine houses physician-scientists and trainees conducting research on a variety of domains, including informatics, well-being, stress and neurobiology, sepsis, global health, education, and resuscitation science.
Duties include: ·Compile clinical, operational, survey, and clinical research data from internal data sources, and combine with publicly available datasets and registries where appropriate. ·Determine additional data collection needs, and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements. ·Employ new and existing tools to independently interpret, analyze and visualize
multi-dimensional longitudinal data from a variety of sources. ·Independently develop hypotheses based on the data analysis and define subsequent analyses and data collection to be performed.
·Use system reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and eliminate root cause for data problems or justify solutions to be implemented by others. ·Create complex charts and databases, perform statistical analyses, and develop graphs and tables for publication, presentation, and grant applications with minimal supervision. ·Train laboratory staff and students to perform basic data analysis using standard packages. - Other duties may also be assigned Stanford

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The pay range for this position working in the California Bay area is between $84,000 to $126,000 based on commensurate experience and background. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s, MS or Ph D in Bioinformatics, Biology or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience Strong background in bioinformatics, including the analysis of longitudinal data Experience in database management Background in programming and query languages.
Demonstrated expertise in advanced SQL and Python strongly preferred. Other background using analytic software such as R, Stata, or SAS viewed favorably. Excellent communication and team skills Experience preparing complex figures and tables, performing advanced statistical analyses, and writing for publications and presentations. Experience and comfort working within a UNIX/Linux environment Experience with cloud-based computing platforms such as Google Cloud Platform EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience in a quantitative discipline such as bioinformatics, statistics or engineering.
