is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) II in Denver, CO. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) II uses model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to develop and integrate Systems Modeling Language (Sys ML)-compliant models and produce Do D Architecture Framework (Do DAF) artifacts for Do D’s Military Services and Agencies’ IT and C6ISR systems.
They build Sys ML-compliant models with tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler within a Digital Engineering Environment (DEE). The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) II uses methods and techniques to build models for use in analysis of alternatives as
requested. The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) II builds parametric models and other Sys ML diagrams to inform optimization of system performance against cost, risk, and performance constraints.
They work with Engineers from other disciplines to use model-based Multidisciplinary Optimization and Analysis (MDAO) capability to assist with technology research within our DEE. They adjust system models based on inputs and outputs for other disciplines’ mathematical and model-driven simulations to explore system performance characteristics. Based on Technology Research outputs, the Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) II creates Change Requests and builds models to backss change impacts.
They contribute to the identification of risks, issues, and opportunities of emerging technologies.
They review and comment on technology research reports to ensure data-driven, evidenced-based recommendations to report and present IRR and presentations that serve as the initial project stage (Phase 0) to inform NSIN’s development of TDLs. The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) II takes direction from more senior personnel. Basic Qualifications: 4 years of related experience Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related area OR a HS Degree and 8 years’ experience OR Associate and 6 years of experience. A candidate holding a relevant master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
A candidate holding a relevant Ph D degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education. Required Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program. 2 years of position-specific relevant experience. Strong problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills are essential. Experience with Magic Draw, Cameo Systems Modeler, CATIA, or other Sys ML/Modeling tools.
Desired Certifications OCSMP Sys ML Certifications. INCOSE Certifications. A solid understanding of Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM). Ability to work in a distributed team environment. Knowledge and understanding of Software Intensive Systems or Information Communication Technology (ICT) systems. Strong preference for candidates with experience modeling or simulating systems within Do D domains. Security Clearance Requirements: Top-Secret Clearance with FSP. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000-$117,400. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
