The Database Administrator administers DCGS databases for modernization and system ops. In addition, the Administrator manages the systems for the storage, query, and utilization of data supporting DCGS enterprise operations and maintenance activities. They support incident management, service level management, change management, release management, continuity management, and availability management for databases
and data management systems. Primary Roles/Duties Designs, implements, and maintains a multiple security enclave data environment, including on-premises and cloud.
Implements data mining and data warehousing applications. Analyzes and plans for changes in data capacity requirements. Installs, configures, administers, tests, and maintains databases and database management systems and software. Implements secure data storage, access, and transfer capabilities. Performs backup and recovery of databases to ensure data integrity. Updates new and current systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space, and implementing system patches. Performs configuration management, problem management, and capacity management of databases and data management systems.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree; additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. Minimum 4 to 10 years of information technology experience, minimum of 1 to 6 years of Database experience. Must be a U. S. citizen; must possess a current Do D Top Secret/SCI clearance. Do D 8570 compliance certs. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; experience building scalable, distributed, high availability services; enjoy technical challenges and constantly striving to improve existing services, systems, and techniques.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of military policies and procedures relating to information technology. Preferred Quals Previous AF DCGS system experience is highly desired.
