is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Sr. VMware System Administrator to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The Senior VMware Administrator provides guidance to ensure all team requirements are successful and workload is efficiently balanced.
Has a strong understanding of troubleshooting and configuration of VMware servers to include protocols and switching, best-practice configurations, connectivity, and networking concepts. Applies a specific knowledge of VMware systems administration concepts, practices and procedures and is required to be available for on-call mission support. They are expected to work on complex
assignments and perform a wide range of VMware system administration activities with little to no direct supervision. The VMware administrator must be a self-starter and be able to work under aggressive deadlines.
The candidate possesses familiarity with varied concepts, standard best business practices, and procedures. The ideal candidate can plan and execute tasks based on experience, judgment, and independent research. Act as a system administrator working with team members to ensure all requirements are delivered in an efficient, highly productive manner Apply best practices where possible or engineer new best practices using innovative approaches as appropriate Analyze new and existing
software; install, maintain, and customize vendor software Consult with internal and external users to identify and document user objectives Monitor system and application performance to detect errors; apply testing procedures/methodologies (e.
g. diagnostic software) and provide interpretation of data Provide root-cause analysis for recurring or critical problems Basic Qualifications: 7-11+ years of VMware systems administration experience Experience installing v Center Server Appliance/Platform Services Controller (PSC) including installation, configuration, and updates Knowledge of performance monitoring and tuning tools, problem determination and recovery, and security Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IBM X-series and Flex System, Dell, and HP server technology Experience with VMware performance tuning and capacity planning Experience with high availability architectures and concepts (possibly including, but not limited to HACMP) Experience with Virtual IOS concepts and applications Experience with enterprise backup/restore architectures Experience with Windows Enterprise administration A 4-year degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience VMWare Certified Associate (VCA) VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) Security Clearance Requirements: Active DOD Secret clearance and ability to obtain agency suitability clearance Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain stationary up to 75% of the time in an office environment.
Must be able to traverse between one work location to another to accomplish work duties. Must be able to operate IT equipment such as a computer, copier, fax machine, etc. Must be able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to exchange information accurately. Must be able to read, review and effectively respond to electronic as well as verbal communications.
This position supports an IT operations environment. Candidates may need to support work on nights and weekends and may be included in an on-call rotation for after-hours support. Currently, the contract work location requirement is to work in the office at the customer’s site once weekly at a minimum. This is subject to change. The projected compensation range for this position is $97,900-$163,800. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.

Serve as Sr. System Administrator and subject matter expert on a team that includes a Project Manager, Network Operations, Cybersecurity and professional services.
Conduct site surveys of data centers to observe conditions and the existing environment (ie. cabling, power, equipment racks, etc) and make recommendations based on project requirements. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: •Must hold an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's and 6 years of experience or Master's and 4 years of experience in associated field; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Must have Comp TIA Security +CE certification at start date. Must have Server certification (i. e. Azure, Comp TIA Server+, Nutanix) or be able to obtain one in 30 days.
