Director of Housekeeping Perks: Generous Bonuses Growth Opportunities - DOUBLE your salary Health Benefits 401K Position Summary: The primary role of the positions is to manage the day-today activities of the Housekeeping & Central Supply Departments in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
This position requires supervisory abilities, as well as extensive knowledge of institutional housekeeping and central supply operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: Manages the Housekeeping and central supply operations to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Develops and assigns work schedules for housekeeping aides.
Orders the necessary supplies to ensure the housekeeping procedures are performed effectively and efficiently. Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner. Inspects the assigned work areas on a regular basis to determine the effectiveness of the housekeeping departments. Ensue the building is maintained in an odor free and clean condition. Maintaining a department budget for both staff and expenses. Follow proper techniques
when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning.
Refer to manufacturer's instructions when necessary. Reviews and evaluates the work performance of assigned personnel, as well as counsels and disciplines assigned personnel according to the established company standards. Ensures that all equipment is maintained in proper working condition. Assist in performing housekeeping duties as needed. Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas, must perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties. Checks supply areas daily ad stocks with required items.
Fills requisitions from the nursing department for routine supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures. Ensures facility has adequate emergency supplies Maintains supply and storage rooms in organized, clean, and safe condition in compliance with applicable local, state, or federal regulations. Rotates supplies to avoid loss of expired items May order supplies within allocated budget from approved company vendors and processes orders in accordance with procurement procedures and location protocols. Qualifications 1-3 years' related experience required; previous supervisory experience in acute or long term care environment preferred High school diploma or equivalent required (GED) Ability to understand and monitor applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
