Essential Job Functions: Model “Customer 1st” behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service Review prescriptions issued by health care providers to confirm accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed Prepare medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients Verify new medication against existing medication
and patient profile to verify that there are no drug-drug or drug-disease interactions prior to filling the prescription Direct shop associates engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling medicals Verify the work of the shop technicians and shop assistants, including accuracy of all prescriptions filled Provide information to shop customers regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of medicals Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs Maintain shop files and inventory Create and maintain purchase orders for medication Open and close department Perform Person in Charge (PIC) duties
