At this career level, incumbents respond to airport/aircraft rescue emergencies, suppress fires, perform rescue operations & operate & maintain fire station vehicles & equipment. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: Oversee and give training assignments to ensure efficient operations are conducted for firefighting department.
Coordinate established training plans and monitors training of all fire personnel to ensure compliance with department requirements. Assist and direct fire suppression and rescue teams at scene of emergencies and provides technical oversight of operations concerning live fire training and operation of equipment. Coordinate fire department health and safety programs, technical orders library, breathing air program and building inspection program to ensure compliance with established fire department management plans, standard operating procedures, and the National Fire Protection Association standards.
Develop local base training and supplementary training for mandated AFCEC items, re-occurring trainings and new training on equipment.
