The plant core processes are continuous web including multi-color flexo-printing, extrusion coating, and water-based coatings. Finished products are in roll form and to support this we have a department of finishing equipment dedicated to convert large internal rolls to final customer specifications. Support the Continuous Improvement and Quality Processes for the North Portland facility. The major objective is

to improve the people and processes to remove cost from the system and to improve our product quality so that we are more competitive in the marketplace as our business grows.

This involves the development, implementation, and preservation of the validity of the Quality System, the proper allocation of available capital to equipment and processes which move the business forward, and the identification of personnel training requirements relative to new equipment and processes. This position shall be focused on driving savings from the production process by improving productivity, reduction of poor-quality performance, and advancing our process control culture. Job Functions: Directly supervise a crew of 10-15 quality department personnel, including testers and a lead foreperson and is responsible for the daily activities of the Quality Assurance Lab.

Must have strong data driven analytical skills. Completed payroll and work schedules for the Quality department on a weekly basis Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Practitioner who maintains all aspects of the quality management system for the plant, including maintaining documents, records and ensuring that the plant is prepared for the annual SQF inspection and audit (internal and external). Conducts various quality and food related audits throughout the plant on a regular basis according to the quality management system.

Investigates and dispositions product put on hold for quality issues Investigates and determines root causes and corrective actions for Customer and Vendor complaints and issues. Must be able to wear all required PPE and lift up to 25 lbs. Analyzes data and test results using various statistical techniques. Leads and participates in LEAN teams and completes corrective actions and process changes on the production floor. May be assigned other projects and various duties as required.

Must be able to work 8 hours/day plus overtime as required. Must be able to move into CI Manager role within 1 year Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred LEAN Belt Certification preferred Certification in SQF and HACCP preferred 3-5 years' experience working in Quality Assurance and a certified QMS preferred Skills: At least an intermediate skill level in all Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Word and PPT preferred Experienced user of SAP, Quality Windows and Click View preferred Packaging, Extrusion, Printing, and manufacturing experience preferred Salary Min: $69,825.00Salary Mid: $93,135.00Salary Max: $116,445.00Graphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
