and loading docks on campus. Collect items left outside recycling bins and load them into correct bins for recycling. Report any bin/dumpster damage to the supervisor. Clean outdoor areas; remove debris and refuse from work sites. Dispose of chipped branches and other debris at appropriate unloading sites.

Assist skilled and semi-skilled workers by hauling, carrying, holding, and lifting materials and equipment. Set up and maintain a safety zone with cones, barricades, and safety tape to identify areas of landscape work. Operate, maintain, and clean power tools, brush chippers, stump grinders, chainsaws, or other Landscape Services tools in a correct and safe manner. Assist Landscape

Services personnel by maintaining shrub beds and other planted areas to include pulling weeds, raking, and performing minor trimming of shrubs. Sweep, blow, and/or shovel mud and debris from walkways, roads, building entrances, and outdoor terraces in order to keep campus walkways and roadways safe and clear of debris.

Effectively perform in a team-oriented service environment. Provide expeditious, professional, and courteous customer service. Effectively work with campus customers and co-workers to accomplish work with a high level of quality and efficiency. Operate personal computer to access work assignments, special projects, customer communications, supervisor communications, timekeeping,

employment benefits, policies and procedures, work-related internet use, email system, Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and automated timekeeping systems.

May be required to work overtime as operationally necessary. QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated experience assisting a landscape or general horticulture crew performing a variety of unskilled manual tasks. Basic knowledge of recycling standards. Demonstrated experience safely operating, maintaining and cleaning landscape maintenance tools such as mowers, edgers, blowers, hedge trimmers, line trimmers, chain saws, rakes, shovels, hoes, brooms, and other related landscape maintenance tools.

Demonstrated experience safely operating, maintaining and cleaning landscape equipment such as stump grinders, brush chippers, trenchers, aerators, tractors, roto-tillers and other commonly used power driven landscape maintenance equipment. Demonstrated experience operating large stake bed trucks, lift trucks and tractors. Basic experience using standard computer systems and applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), electronic mail and web based applications. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact in a positive manner within a diverse community.

Proven ability to prioritize high volume work load subject to frequently changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to maintain acceptable work habits, punctuality, regularity of attendance and meet deadlines. Ability to follow through and carry out assignments Proven ability to work effectively in a team-based, service oriented environment. Ability to effectively communicate orally, in writing and electronically. Ability to build and maintain customer relationships through a professional approach in handling customer service needs and resolving problems efficiently.

Ability to problem-solve and exercise sound judgment in order to communicate and respond promptly with tact and diplomacy. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to operate Forklift preferred. Knowledge of International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and ANSI Z-133.1 safety standards preferred. SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver License and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program. Pre-employment DMV and Background Check Clearance required. Must be physically able to perform all essential functions.
