Plant and Education Center. The successful applicant will work to help the Wastewater Treatment Division maintain a healthy environment for wastewater treatment personnel of King County. This position will be filled as a Term Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) and is anticipated to last for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension.

WHO MAY APPLY: This position is open to the general public and King County Employees. First consideration will be given to S. E. I. U. Wastewater Local 925 employees. Special Duty Assignment (SDA): Open only to current King County employees who have passed their initial probationary period. Special duty applicants must also have

approval from their current supervisor to accept an acting assignment. This recruitment may also be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill future TLT or SDA opportunities in the following six months.

Work location: Brightwater Treatment Plant - 22505 State Route 9 S. E. Woodinville, WA 98072 Work Schedule: The treatment plants are operated 24/7. Applicants must be available to work any assigned schedule. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible. This full-time position works a 40-hour workweek. Work hours are 6:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday. Union Representation: This position

kingcounty. gov/environment/wtd/About. aspx http: //www. kingcounty. gov/environment/wtd/About/Vision. aspx Job Duties The following duties benefits all Brightwater employees and visitors, providing a clean and healthy place for all: Strip, wax and scrub various types of floors; vacuum and extract dirt from carpets and machine-buff floors. Clean, stock and sanitize lunchrooms, restrooms and elevators including tables, chairs, toilets, showers, sinks and walls. As directed, mix and use cleaning solutions and chemicals.

Dust, wash and vacuum surfaces. Request and stock various types of supplies. Empty trash. Clean glass windows and surfaces May research and prepare bid specifications for cleaning equipment and supplies. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Minimum Requirements: Knowledge of basic janitorial cleaning techniques Knowledge in the use and care of cleaning equipment Knowledge of basic safety rules and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and co-workers. Knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals Effective communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to demonstrate behaviors that include fairness, respect, and inclusiveness. Ability to work effectively with others in a work environment that embraces and encourages diversity in its workforce and where differences are valued. Valid Washington State Driver's License Preferred Qualifications: One (1) or more years of recent professional industrial cleaning/janitorial work experience.
