on equipment and minor building maintenance to ensure safe and efficient building operations.
Assists maintenance mechanics in routine troubleshooting and repairs. Major Areas of Responsibility Performs basic preventative maintenance and routine repairs on various in-house systems to include conveyor, material handling equipment, tagging machines, storage equipment, vehicles, etc. Assists in troubleshooting and lubricates, adjusts and replaces parts. Performs maintenance services in two or more skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, heating, etc. may perform basic maintenance duties such as minor construction, landscaping, cleaning, etc.
Assists maintenance mechanics in major equipment repairs, electrical repairs and installations in accordance with established safety procedures. Requisitions new supplies and equipment as necessary. Performs special projects or duties as assigned. Minimum formal education. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum job skills required to perform this job. Vocational training in basic preventative maintenance practices preferable. Willingness to work various shifts to meet business needs. Minimum experience required to perform this job. Six months to one year experience in a preventative maintenance capacity with demonstrated mechanical knowledge/aptitude.
