Job Summary The Supervisor leads all aspects of and coordinates activities of the maintenance department working under the direction of the Director and or Assistant Director. Incumbent is guided by thorough knowledge of plant operations and maintenance
methods, techniques, procedures, principles of engineering, applicable governmental codes and regulations, and operation and use of departmental equipment and supplies; knowledge of principles of management, and procedures and policies of the department and facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Plans, organizes and controls activities of maintenance department to keep staff engaged in maintaining, repairing, and renovating facilities - Maintains flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of assigned workload and adherence to standards of quality control - Maintains adequate inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies and initiates requisitions as needed - In the absence of the Director
and Assistant Director, assumes full responsibilities of the department, shares weekend duties with the other managers in the department - Monitors and inspects employee work performance to assure performance standards are maintained through use of computer reports - Orients and trains new employees and provides continuing guidance and on-the-job training to all assigned personnel - Prepares performance evaluations for assigned personnel - Monitors and coordinates a variety of preventative maintenance and building and property repair and improvement projects performed by vendors and contractors, inspects completed work and approves requests for payment regarding same - Serves as a member of the facility's fire response team QUALIFICATIONS - Previous supervisory experience, preferably in healthcare - Must be knowledgable in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems - Previous experience with computerized work order system highly preferred - Ability to meet the needs of the facility and make sound decisions, sometimes under stress - Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal - Engineering degree preferred - Construction experience; CHFM - NYC Refrigeration License preferred - Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Apply to Crothall today!
