Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Materials and Process Engineer OR a Principal Materials and Process Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position can be located in Palmdale, CA or Oklahoma City, OK. The selected candidate will be responsible for: Analyzing, researching, and developing materials and their related application processes for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems,

and subsystems. Applying principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to investigate material issues and provide solutions.

Working in a team environment with other engineering organization performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans. The position is based in Oklahoma City, OK or Palmdale, CA. If based in Oklahoma, some travel to Palmdale, CA will be required and vice versa. This position can be filled at either the Material and Process Engineer OR a Principal Materials and Process Engineer level, depending upon the qualifications below. Basic Qualifications for Materials and Process Engineer: ABET accredited Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science and 2 years of related engineering experience OR; an ABET accredited Master's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science degree 0 years of related experience Familiarity with composite pre-pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures Familiarity with metallic materials and processes Ability to obtain and maintain a Do D Secret or Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Basic Qualifications for Principal Materials and Process Engineer: ABET accredited Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science and 5 years of related engineering experience OR; an ABET accredited Master's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science degree 3 years of related experience; OR an ABET accredited Ph D in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science with 0 years of related experience.

Familiarity with composite pre-pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures Familiarity with metallic materials and processes Ability to obtain and maintain a Do D Secret or Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Preferred Qualifications for both levels: Active Do D Secret or Top Secret clearance Experience with working on military aircraft Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science Experience with material obsolescence issues and qualifying materials Experience with LO materials Salary Range: $64,900 - $118,900 Salary Range 2: $79,800 - $146,300The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
