be involved in projecting estimated costs of upcoming projects, aiding other members of the Project Planning team in the preparation of cost estimates by preparing quantity take-offs, and assisting in developing unit pricing. What You Will Do: As an Estimating Engineer, you play a crucial part of the preconstruction team.
Primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to: Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications at various stages of design including Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents. Prepares detailed estimates for various project types. Develops and organizes Quantity Take Offs for ease of audit. Competencies
in architectural interiors estimating. Demonstrates emerging competencies in civil and structural estimating. Ability to interact with trade contractors for pricing input.
Review estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with defined scope of work. Interact with multiple organizations to review, discuss project scope and estimate basis, and consult on Company estimating methods/procedures. Document management and organization. Prepares notes and meeting minutes. Engineer and coordinate with teammates on Company estimating methods and preparation directions. and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related job field.
Minimum one (1) year of work experience in the construction industry; preference for candidates with estimating experience. OR Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience. Well organized, excellent communication, and negotiation abilities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices. Must have the conceptual ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop an understanding of the owner and/or architect's requirements. Complete knowledge of the estimating documents and the ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of the documents. Familiarity with construction project management software.
