Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 3, supporting the Marine Systems Business Unit, reporting to an Operating Unit (OU) aligned Engineering Director. Position will be located in Sunnyvale, CA and will require

onsite support. The selected individual will lead a team aligned to the Columbia Turbine Generator in the Operating Unit's portfolio. The successful candidate job duties will include, but not limited to: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Candidates must have exceptional leadership and teambuilding skills, strategic thinking, strong technical and business acumen, and the ability to lead multiple engineering disciplines across programs. The candidate will work with cross-discipline team members and therefore must have excellent communication skills, presentation experience and the ability to work seamlessly with a diverse community of engineers and managers to achieve the goals of the organization.

The candidate must have the ability to build consensus and resolve conflict. The candidate must collaborate with business area leadership, and other functional partners to resolve complex issues in a timely manner to help meet program commitments. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in STEM with 9 years of experience; OR a Master's Degree in STEM with 7 years of experience; OR a Ph D in STEM with 4 years of experience. U. S Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Do D Secret Clearance. 3 years' experience managing technical teams. Strong engineering background with demonstrated experience managing through design and production.

Experience with proposals and Earned Value Management Solid understanding of engineering process with execution experience. Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields. Program management experience Experience managing control accounts with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and technical performance. Experience with product line management and product line engineering Proven success in creating and executing affordability initiatives.

Experience as a Technical Lead, Project Manager, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development, or technical project management experience preferred. Salary Range: $180,600 - $271,000The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
