a traffic engineering specialist to join our award-winning Division 5 team. In this role, you will: Conduct traffic engineering investigations including speed zone studies and intersection surveys for traffic signals. Develop plans for signing and pavement marking needs.
Lead traffic analysis using software programs. Prepare pavement marking and sign installation plans. Perform travel time studies and communicate with contractors, the public, and government agencies concerning traffic engineering policies. What You Bring Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision. Customer service experience resolving problems
involving explaining complicated engineering concepts to customer groups. Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems. Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments.
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and produce engineering plans and specifications. Computer skills to use basic office and engineering applications. Skills to accurately read and interpret project plans and inspect contract projects. Good eyesight to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer screens, and conducting visual inspections. Notes You will encounter hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to
moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and extreme hot and cold conditions.
Management prefers applicants who can safely and legally operate a state motor vehicle. Education & Experience Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related discipline, and 6+ years progressive technician experience; or High School/GED Diploma, and 8+ years progressive technician experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
