This role manages end-to-end system view of modem performance and power with emphasis
on wireless protocol's impact. The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics.
This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$208,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent practical experience 5 years of experience as a wireless systems engineer Experience with Power/Performance, Log Analysis, Python, C, C Experience with Wireless Communications (5G and LTE), designing, and analyzing wireless systems Preferred qualifications: 8 years of experience with 3GPP wireless (LTE/NR) Experience with MATLAB or similar programming languages Experience with proposing new mobile features and defining systems requirements with power/thermal/form-factor constraints Experience designing and analyzing practical wireless systems to optimize power consumption and performance (e.
g. latency, throughput, reliability) trade offs Understanding of wireless communication theory, data communication networks, queuing theory, scheduling/prioritization, Qo S Familiarity with 3GPP specification, with emphasis in signaling and procedures - Analyze modem logs and identify opportunities for power/performance improvements, particularly in the protocol domain (CA/DC management, RAT/band/cell selection, mobility management, idle mode and background traffic, etc.
). - Propose new features and define system requirements to drive cross-functional teams (software, integration, testing) in developing improvements. - Be able to characterize User Experience (UE) benefits and network impact for new features/improvements, by modeling/analysis and/or based on actual lab/field results.
