large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally. The telemetry team is designing, building, and deploying telemetry systems, realizing at-scale financial exchange in Google Cloud.
The systems directly support premium financial-service cloud customers, as well as Google's production systems. The team operates as part of the larger Google Traffic Information Base team, that provides traffic telemetry to critical Google services (e. g. traffic engineering and job scheduling) in a low-dependency, high-availability, and reliable manner. The team's mission is to provide telemetry for advanced infrastructure, developing, adapting, and deploying simple and yet powerful measurement

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $185,000-$283,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e. g. Python, C, C , Java, Java Script). 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or Ph D in Computer Science or related technical field. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization. Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production software and infrastructure.
Networking experience, and experience in storage systems and distributed systems. Willingness to learn about surrounding systems and services and to come up with the best design possible. - Lead the team to deliver impactful milestones for Google's infrastructure. - Develop and uphold a high standard of software engineering to provide the highest standard of reliability and availability. - Innovate and experiment with various techniques to improve the system both in performance and functionalities. - Drive and participate in design, implementation, and productionization of major software/hardware deliverables.
