NOTE: Candidates appointed on a provisional basis must take the next holding of the Plant Utility Engineer 3 exam, pass the exam, and be reachable on the resulting eligible list to continue appointment in the Plant Utility Engineer 3 position. Duties Description Under the direction of the Physical Plant Manager 1 at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park, the Plant Utilities Engineer 3 is responsible for: Preparing maintenance and preventative
maintenance schedules for HVAC equipment and carousel. Maintaining, servicing, and repairing HVAC equipment. Monitoring all park technical systems, including digital monitoring, on an ongoing basis.
Performing monthly inspection and maintenance of carousel and the stage lifts parkwide. Monitoring chillers, cooling tower, and water treatment. Identifying repair parts needed for maintenance of equipment, such as HVAC, and preparing scopes of work. Performing roof inspections parkwide, researching technical aspects for repair or replacement, and preparing quotes. Reviewing technical specifications. Monitoring and supervising on-site capital projects. Supervising General Mechanic
and other lower-level maintenance staff. Other duties as assigned by Park Administration.
Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS: Must possess and maintain a valid New York State Driver's License at the time of appointment as a term and condition of employment. Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as needed. Must be well organized and possess excellent communication skills. Must have the ability to understand written and/or verbal materials and instructions. May be required to report to other facilities throughout the NYC Region on an as-needed basis.
