As Sr. Data Engineer, you will collaborate with TFB Analytics and Reporting teams to collect data requirements for reporting and analytics, design data models, specifications and develop data warehouse and data mart objects and metrics. You must be comfortable querying, exploring and ingesting data from a wide variety of data platforms (including Oracle, Microsoft SQL and Azure, Teradata, and etc. ), then accurately
transforming the transactional data for analysis and reporting, often in the absence of a complete data dictionary. This role reports to the Manager, Data Engineering.
Job Responsibilities: Get a deep understanding of data requirements, business rules and metrics needed by Analytics and Reporting teams. Explore existing and new data sources and ingest data into Snowflake, as needed. Write ETL, stored procedures, API calls, Python scripts to model and build transformations and validate the data to ensure business requirements are met. Build optimal data pipelines and/or scheduled jobs to refresh data on cadence. Create data models and document design and process flow. Validate the objects
built in the data warehouse and track issues to resolution. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with partner teams in a collaborative team environment.
Education: Bachelor's Degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related subject area or equivalent experience (Required)Work Experience: Minimum 4-5 years in data engineering and/or BI development including Advanced SQL, writing ETL and stored procedures (required). Solid understanding of Data warehouse and data mart concepts (required). Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement (required).
Experience with Python or other scripting languages (required). 2-3 years' experience with building modeled data in Snowflake (preferred). Experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks (preferred). Experience with data visualization development in Power BI (preferred). Experience with , especially Salesforce APIs (plus). Experience with Teradata and Oracle (plus). Experience working with business and frontline functions, especially with sales & commissioning, marketing, and/or billing data (plus)Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating with various functional teams (required) At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States Travel: Travel Required (Yes/No): No DOT Regulated: DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No): No Safety Sensitive Position (Yes/No): No Washington Pay Range : $136,600.00 - $184,900.00The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed.
The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role.
Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
