for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our Project Management team to work with our team leaders managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks for a broad range of transportation projects. In this role, you will: Manage day-to-day activities and tasks required to lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering preconstruction to construction projects.
Perform project development, environmental analysis, planning, and design tasks. Lead a portfolio of centrally managed State Transportation Improvement projects (STIP) during the pre-construction phase to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and within budget. Lead a team preparing environmental studies,
analysis, documentation, engineering studies, design products, special provisions, quantities, and ultimately final plans and contract documents. Track project changes and maintain project schedules/milestones.
Identify risks and opportunities with mitigation strategies to ensure projects remain in scope, on schedule, and within budget. Analyze environmental data and design information. Request technical deviations and exceptions. Provide comments to our Senior Project Manager on centrally-developed environmental studies and documents. Ensure products meet quality expectations. Communicate with team members to expedite critical task completion, document environmental decisions, complete
designs, and ensure deliverables produced are in compliance with all federal/state laws, rules, regulatory actions, policies, and procedures.
Request technical deviations and exceptions to advance projects. Provide oversight to private engineering firms (PEF), administer PEF contracts, review, and process invoices, make recommendations to our Senior Project Manager and provide feedback on consultant performance. What You Bring Experience overseeing and managing complex transportation projects and developing/managing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and project risks. Knowledge of professional civil engineering principles and practices related to Highway Design with an emphasis on project planning, environmental studies and analysis, project design, construction and maintenance methods relating to the Project Delivery Process.
Management experience leading teams to apply engineering principles to difficult and complex environmental and design situations, making sound recommendations and decisions, and providing design guidance. Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and fostering communication with senior leadership, stakeholders, the public, and among project team members. Professional Engineering contract knowledge and the ability to understand scoping, estimating, and negotiating of contracts.
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and 4+ years of relevant experience; or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
