We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our Construction Services team in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Job Snapshot: As a Senior Construction Materials Engineering Technician , you will make a difference! The field testing and observations of construction materials you perform each day help ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. You will see construction projects from beginning to end, documenting the successful placement and use of soil,
concrete, rebar, asphalt, aggregate, and other building materials. It is our job to make sure it is " built right" and at S&ME we take that responsibility very seriously.

Responsibilities can include: Reviewing plans and specifications for construction site field observations Use Metafield® and other systems for daily documentation of field activities, observations, and testing results Calibrating equipment Conducting Special Inspection per IBC Communicating daily with stakeholders and mentor/train construction staff Serving as a Special Inspection agent Assisting project managers in plan and spec review
and resolving deviations Required Qualifications: High School diploma/GED Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials Two or More Active Certification(s): American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician - NICET: Construction Materials Testing (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils) - International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils) - DOT specific in the fields of Aggregate, Density, Asphalt, and Concrete Working Conditions and Physical Demands: You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as: Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions Walking over rough and uneven terrain Standing up to 8 hours a day, up to 12 hours on occasion Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment) Maneuver field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground and around active construction sites Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary Working outside of normal business hours when necessary Why S&ME: Our people are the heartbeat of our company, and with employee ownership at our foundation, we are all vested in the success of each other and S&ME as a whole.

3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a GMP laboratory or manufacturing environment. Special consideration given to candidates with experience with automated filling equipment especially in a sterile manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include: Create and execute equipment installation and operational qualification/requalification, calibration, and preventative maintenance for manufacturing instruments and equipment, as well as facilities and utilities qualifications /development. Standard Operating Procedures and training materials for manufacturing equipment / perform. Factory Acceptance Tests for new equipment at vendor sites/monitor.
