Keeping the network reliable ensures that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products and services. The Network Deployment team designs, configures, and manages the installation of Google's network including infrastructure, hardware setup, commissioning, trouble-shooting, and decommissioning old gear. You conduct audits to verify

that each network site has been built to the right specifications. You will focus on building Long haul Optical Networks and activating capacity on Google's Network.

position is $105,000-$154,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with field-based work in data centers, huts, and collocation facilities managed by third party vendors. Experience working with optical networking technologies. Preferred qualifications: Experience troubleshooting of DWDM systems. Experience in DWDM topology and architecture. Knowledge of fiber types and their application, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (i. e. OSA, BERT, OTDR). Understanding of networking and fundamentals of network troubleshooting.

Understanding of network transport design, equipment, and infrastructure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Build and operate Google's network reliably and at scale. - Design, plan, and install support for optical transport. - Develop creative approaches for keeping operational costs low through tooling and process improvements.
