They focus on improving the manufacturability of parts through various methods that include - but are not limited to - evaluating equipment/machinery, researching alternative methods of production, and conducting in-depth process reviews involving detailed inspection.
Duties and Areas of Responsibility: Design methods of manufacturing for new and existing products to adhere to customer requirements. Identify failure modes and present solutions to mitigate risk during production. Design tooling, fixturing, and gauges for a range of manufacturing processes including spinning, machining, and inspection. Create and check detailed 3D CAD
models and 2D CAD drawings for final and in-process parts and tooling/fixturing. Complete and manage engineering change orders as required. Research, investigate, and present solutions to manufacturability and equipment issues during and related to production.
Maintain and update data related to parts, tooling, and processes within the ERP system. Follow and support all applicable ISO9001 & AS9100 standards and procedures. Stay current with industry trends, technical developments and best engineering practices. Secondary duties may be assigned including: Programing, setup, and operation of the Robotic Cell. CNC programming in collaboration with both the Spinning and Machining Departments.
Programming and operation of quality inspection equipment in collaboration with the Quality Department.
Development of code to improve organization and communication throughout the company. Development of custom search queries for mass data acquisition/entry

Job Purpose The Technical Service Engineer is responsible for the installation and servicing of proprietary industrial chemicals for the surface finishing industry and related equipment at various Mac Dermid customer facilities. The position requires a proactive self-starter that is able to work closely and independently with customers, technical service, and sales personnel, to ensure the customer and MEIS interests are served while helping to promote Mac Dermid’s exclusive line of products. rapport with customers and become a trusted resource Perform practical demonstrations of products at customer premises Will act as part of a team of 3-4 reps to assist on sales calls, train, and interact with customers and vendors Support lab techs and quality managers on a day-to-day basis Follows through on services rendered to customers in the field Provides assistance to customers both in person and by phone, dealing with technical and operational issues Extensive travel to customer or manufacturing sites required 50% or more (approximately 20+hrs on the road, on average 2/3 nights away) possibly some weekend – travel to be based on customer needs Person must be able to travel internationally with a passport Requirements & Qualifications Computer literate on Word, Excel, PPT, and other applications Excellent written and oral communication skills Physically able to handle 50 pounds Experience with surface finishing applications (preferred) A good working knowledge of surface finishing chemicals and other related features (required) Must be a hands-on person with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve chemical issues quickly by working with line operators Must be innovative and logical in problem solving skills and able to recommend resolution to issues both internally and with customers Education Bachelor's Degree preferred in Engineering or Chemistry
