Supermicro is looking for Sr. Solution Engineer responsible for testing reference architecture for any kind of client virtualization. The main responsibility will be to test and document the best methods to deploy client and/or application virtualization on Supermicro servers, storage and networking. This is a key role and you will be interacting with various teams and levels
of management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned): • As a part of the System Solution team you will be helping test, document and train both internal and external staff on best practices to implement virtualization solution • Responsible for tuning the system for best performance • Duties include application optimization in a virtualized environment • Responsible for coming up with test methodology and test cases • Be able to present the finding to sales and potential customers • Drive test infrastructure for future Supermicro technologies and initiatives with VMware • Investigate and drive support
for new/pre-release technology from VMWare and other virtualization providers • Prototype/Proof-of-Concept new technologies as required Qualifications: • Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering is preferred • Minimum 8 years of experience working with VMware, virtualization, OS, hardware, servers and storage is desirable • GPU experience is a plus • Excellent knowledge of server systems, PC systems, and computer peripherals is required • Good understanding of virtualization technology, cloud technology and converged infrastructure • Working knowledge of virtualization and hypervisor technologies, including VMware sphere, KVM, Xen, and Hyper-V • Hands-on use/experience with VMware in a testing environment • Understanding of enterprise networking technologies, including software-defined networking • Able to make progress in multiple tasks simultaneously and be flexible to change requirements and priorities • Excellent verbal and communication skills Salary Range $120,000 - $160,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
