Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking an Engineering Manager - Systems to join Advanced Weapons to develop complex, next generation, state of the art weapon systems. The Engineering Manager serves as the lead for all engineering support
assigned to a program, providing communications to/from program management, manufacturing, operations, customers, and all engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) that belong to that project.
Role Description & Responsibilities: The Engineering Manager will support the program manager (PM) as follows: Be responsible, working with the Chief Engineer, for program technical quality and performance. Working with IPT leads to make sure program cost and schedule are on track. Coordinating with PM to help develop the program work breakdown structure, integrated master plan, and integrated master schedule. Be responsible for providing organization and guidance towards: - engineering resources
assigned to the program. - the engineering environment, as specified by the needs of the engineering teams, to meetprogram objectives - labs, tools, resources (e.
g. workstations)- the Technical Review Plan (all engineering work products required on a program, typicallycaptured in a SEMP or SWDP) Providing Configuration Management oversight. Providing product/subsystems design oversight. Managing the preparations, timeliness, and completion of subsystem and lower technical reviews prior to (internal or customer) PDR and CDR. Be the interface to subcontracts management. Collecting and providing required data for Sector program review reporting on engineering performance including metrics.
Supporting the transition of the system to the Manufacturing Operations Working with engineering functional management to ensure that standardized tools and processes are utilized and applied, as applicable to contract scope. Tracking and managing program resources to ensure required engineering support is properly maintained, in accordance with program plans and WBS implementation, in conjunction with the PM team or any other sector requirements, to meet program needs. Ensuring that change management and scope management is controlled, communicated, and is consistent with contractual requirements.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 14 years of related engineering experience; or a Master's degree in STEM with 12 years of related engineering experience, or a Ph D in STEM with 9 years of related engineering experience. Must have an active Do D Secret or higher clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with the AARGM, SW2 and GP Redesign programs. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Salary Range: $165,000 - $247,600The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
